Inorganic Zinc Silicate Primer
Product Description : A high performance primer to provide corrosion protection to blasted steel substrates in highly corrosive environments, e.g., onshore and offshore steelworks, pipelines, bridges etc. A post fabrication primer for long-term protection prior to subsequent overcoating in the field. Fast drying primer. Able to withstand surface dry heat temperature of up to 400°C-600°C..
DRYING TIME: Touch Dry-10 mins, Hard Dry- 6 Hrs
DFT: 45-50 Micron
COVERAGE AREA: 8sq.mtr per litr
FINISH: Matt
NO. OF COMPONENTS: Two (Hydrolysate 10LTR + Zinc dust 10LTR)
Mixing Ratio: 1:1
METHOD OF APPLICATION: Airless Spray, Roller or By brush
This is the recommended method of application: Maximum 5% Thinner may be added. Stir liquid converter thoroughly and add powder. Continue stirring until thoroughly mixed. Filter through a 30 to 60 mesh screen to remove any large particles before use. The continuously mixed material should be applied by spray. When application is made by Merchandise conventional spray, use the lowest air pressure that will achieve good atomization in order to minimize overspray. Apply the material in one wet coat, overlapping each pass 50% and holding the spray gun at right angles to the surface at all times. The spray gun should be held approximately 8 inches (20cm) from the surface, using a 6 to 8 inch (l5-20cm) fan. When application is made by airless spray, use an inbound pressure approximately 10 psi above the level at which "pig-tails" occurs. Hose length should be limited to not more than 20 meters.
Application Conditions Do not apply this product if the Relative Humidity exceeds 85% or if the substrate temperature is within 3°C of the dew point.
The Inorganic Zinc Silicate Primer is a high-performance, solvent-based primer designed to provide superior corrosion protection for steel surfaces. It contains a high percentage of zinc dust, offering excellent adhesion and durability. This primer is ideal for use in harsh environments, including marine and industrial settings, and can be applied using conventional or airless spray techniques. It provides a tough, abrasion-resistant finish that withstands extreme weather conditions and high temperatures.
